Beaubien has been with Reising for fifteen years and currently serves on the firm’s management committee.
His experience embraces most aspects of intellectual property (IP) counseling, with a focus on developing and managing patent and trademark portfolios. Beaubien prepares and prosecutes utility and industrial design patent applications, and prepares and prosecutes trademark applications. He also renders opinions on patent infringement and invalidity issues, assists litigation, and handles IP licensing.
Beaubien has secured patent protection for innovations in many fields, including: battery manufacturing equipment, flexure bearings for micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) devices, position and orientation (pose) estimation of articulated machines, dispenser devices, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, and mathematical-based estimations of battery cell core temperatures.
While handling these matters, Beaubien has worked with automotive manufacturers and suppliers, medical technology companies, aerospace companies, makers of manufacturing equipment, consumer product and service companies, universities, and entrepreneurs.
A regular author of articles and presenter at conferences, Beaubien enjoys writing and speaking about contemporary patent law topics.
