Lena attended Wayne State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and continued her studies there as graduate student focusing on genetic research while earning a Master of Arts in Biology. Much of Lena’s research focused on DNA manipulation and the functions of highly conserved regions of DNA throughout various organisms.
During law school, Lena externed at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and worked in the Patent Procurement Clinic at Wayne State University. There she drafted and submitted patent applications and responses to office actions on behalf of clients of the clinic in addition to drafting patentability reports and opinions. Lena is also a member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Inn of Court and the Wayne State Intellectual Property Student Association.
